TALENT COMPETITION 2008

The following is a list of rules and talent activities of which the National Finals will be held in the Special Activities Weekend May 2008

U/14 SOLO DANCE;(MODERN OR DISCO)

A competitor may preform to a maximum of two dances, accompanied by taped music.

U/14 SOLO SINGING;

A competitor may sing to a maximum of two songs, accompanied by one accompanist or taped music(no vocals.)

U/14 RECITATION

A competitor may preform one recitation.

U/14 SOLO MUSIC;

A competitor may preform to a maximum of two pieces. (All musical instruments must be provided by the competitor with the exception of a piano. An electric piano will be provided, if required, at the national finals.

U/14 Group Dancing (panel, minimum of 2, maximum of 6)

Modern/traditional Irish dance, competitors may preform to a maximum of two dances, accompanied by live or taped music.

U/14 GROUP SINGING (Panel, minimum 2, maximum 6.

Competitors may sing to a maximum of 2 songs, accompained by taped music (no vocals)or live music provided by a member or members of the group.

U/14 GROUP MUSIC; (Panel, minimum of 2, maximum of 6)

Competitors may preform to a maximum of 2 pieces.

U/14 DRAMA/COMEDY SCETCH; (Panel, minimum of 2, maximum of 6)

Competitors may preform a drama or comedy scetch to a maximum of a six minute duration. One point will be deducted for each 30 seconds over the time limit.
No props allowed. Costumes only to be used to depict the character. Chairs may be used on stage to seat proformers.
